How can I preview a lesson from Succeeding at Reading? I am trying to compare this phonics program to Alpha-Phonics by Samuel Blumenfeld. Thank you in advance for any advice/help.

Hi,

We have an extensive review of Succeeding at Reading located at the following URL - http://www.keepersofthefaith.com/Catalog/Curriculum_SucceedingAtReading_285.asp

There is also a link to a test which is actually a review lesson at the end of the book.

If you have specific questions, please feel free to post.

Thank you. I read the description, but I would like to see an actual lesson with teacher instructions. A few other questions:
Who is the author of Succeeding at Reading?
How does Succeeding at Reading address teaching words that are not phonetic, so called sight words?
Are there any parents that could share how they use Succeeding at Reading?

Many programs have a sample lesson on their websites for parents to view. This would be helpful.
Thank you, again.

Hi,

Teaching reading for a phonetic language is a very simple process. Please read the following forum post we answered some time ago.

http://forum.keepersofthefaith.com/posts/list/24.page#45

Also, here is another post that mentions Succeeding at Reading.

http://forum.keepersofthefaith.com/posts/list/49.page#118

The first post expounds a great deal about the mechanics of how Succeeding at Reading works. If after reading it, you have further questions, I will be happy to answer them.

The staff at Keepers authored Succeeding at Reading after years of research. We also have first hand experience tutoring students from public schools who have been told they will never learn to read. The structure that Succeeding at Reading is based on, has been used to properly teach phonetic reading for centuries.

The English language is over ninety-eight percent phonetic. The student will learn the few sight words there are from sentence reading and their English curriculum.

The test on the web site is an actual lesson. We have a short teacher's guide in the back of the book for the parent, and we give free telephone support. We also have a sixty day money back guarantee on all of our products. For $15.95, you will receive a reading program that you will use for four to five years and which can be used with multiple children. It is very simple and easy to use and only requires a student to work in it for fifteen minutes per day.

I hope this helps.
